This video made it in my circle and I thought I’d share it here.
This video shows a 1984 episode of Press Your Luck where contestant Michael Larson played an extraordinary game and won 110,237 dollars, the highest amount won by a single contestant on that show. CBS suspected foul play at first but could not prove that Michael did any “wrong” so he was rewarded his prize. It was later revealed that he learned the game board patterns by playing back past episodes.
Unfortunately this story does not end well. Michael Larson lost his money in bad money decisions and suffered a robbery as well as a divorce. He would die of cancer in 1999.
I did not post this because of the tragedy that happened afterward (although I guess one can learn a lesson from it) but to show how some things can be mastered even if it looks like it can’t.
