This past weekend I went to my fist Pokémon Go meetup. I was excited to come back to Hoboken and make new friends with a new game I like. Continue reading
This year’s MAGFest was quite different from my other years I went. That is mainly because this year I decided to volunteer.
I spent all of my volunteer work on the Games on Film festival. On one of the shifts hosted the Bagged and Bored. Otherwise it’s pretty much me making sure everything is running while the movie is playing.
I also came back to MAGFest Pokemon League to defend my title from last year. I didn’t get to repeat but I had a good time.
Also I got to room with some cool people. The antic inside the room matched what happened at MAGFest!
Of course there was the always-running arcade and the Cosplay (I cosplayed as Ryu). Fun overall.
Looking forward to next year!
This coming weekend I will be at New York Comic Con. It’s pretty much the biggest convention I go to.
I don’t have an exact plan, but Some of the thing I would like to do are as follows:
- Catch the Chucky Panel.
- Compete in The Next Level Tournament.
- Take pictures of cosplayers.
- Get some photo ops and autographs.
- Take pictures of some cosplayers.
- Catch the Robot Chicken panel.
- Find way to buy Pokemon X and Y.
- Catch the Nintendo Fan panel.
- Catch the Midtown Comics after parties.
- Take Pictures of Cosplayers.
And that’s pretty much it!
This weekend I started writing for Put That Back. It is a video game website that I have been following for a few months. They were looking for some new writers so I hopped on.
I already have a few posts on there. This one in particular is a sneek peak on “Watch Dogs”. Make sure you check back for more!
This morning the Sandy Hook shooter Adam Lanza made it on the another front page of the New York Daily News. The paper’s featured article made sure to throw video games under the bus, and shows no shame in doing so.
Over the weekend, I have seen other gamer on my social networks complying because the media is making video games their post-shooting punching bag (again). There is even one gamer calling for everyone not to play shooting games on for one day. *Shakes head* Continue reading
I found this picture of a prototype of the Wii U Game Pad Controller on Nintendo Gamer. What you see here is a tablet-like monitor with two attached Wii Remotes and two Nunchuck analog sticks. It’s great to see how the system came to be
As some may already know, I was at the Wii U midnight launch at Nintendo World. It was by far my favorite Nintendo launch. There were dancing Mii characters, A dancing Mario Luigi, a cosplay contest (wish Zadra was in it), and hot apple cider and grilled cheese. Great times.
There was a great deal of press coverage. CNN, was there. CNET was there. I got interviewed by a Japanese press team. I even heard that iJustine was nearby. But I missed her. Sad face.
The first purchase was bananas. It took Nintendo World quite a while to ring Triforce up. And after the purchase they kept him in the store so more press could talk to him. It was madness overall.
Triforce invited me to play back at his place. I took a crack at New Super Mario Bros. U. The game is pure insanity in 2-4 players, but still fun.
There is a small documentary from Polygon.com that covers Triforce’s quest to buy the Wii U. I know the guy with the Adidas cap is cute, ladies but please ignore him for the time being. This is about Triforce.
It was a great time witnessing the launch for myself. Expect to see some videos from the launch soon!
I went to New York Comic Con this weekend. And it was FUN! It would have been more fun if I had a press pass but I still enjoyed myself. There were a lot of events in and out the venue and it was definitely a well needed break from “normal life”. Continue reading
